I’m A Prize NOT A Trophy
Prize- A thing given as a reward to the winner of a competition or in recognition of an outstanding achievement; anything worth striving for, a valuable possession held or in prospect
Trophy- A cup or other decorative object awarded as a prize for a victory or success with; a symbol of success that is used to impress others
I am pretty sure we have all heard the term “trophy wife” before and I’m also pretty sure we all have our own interpretation of what that means. Generally though, I think most of us assume she is physically attractive, in fact, she is extremely beautiful or well put together. In a lot of cases, she may be younger (a lot younger most of the time) than her husband. She may even be thought to be less accomplished and only desired because of her looks although of course this isn’t always the case. While I am not saying it is a bad thing to keep yourself up and to believe in the saying “if you got it, flaunt it”, what I AM saying though, is that you should aspire to be desired for much more than your looks or body. You should always strive to learn more and be more. Beauty AND brains, right? Think about it this way, a prize is a reward and a trophy is a prize, however a prize is for achievement whereas a trophy is to impress others. A trophy is obtained and put on display, a prize can be used to help take a person to another level. Many prizes come in the form of money or have monetary value which means it can be used as an investment in the future. Trophies are decorative items that you can place on a shelf and admire. Prizes can be a variety of things, a trophy is one thing and one thing only. I said all that to say this, you want to bring more to the table than just your looks, ladies. You want to be able to be your own person, to hold an intelligent conversation and to be able to spiritually connect with your partner. Don’t believe the hype, looks may get you in the door, but it’s your personality and character that will keep you there.
